Noongar Season Matching Set of 12
Celebrate the richness of Noongar culture with this beautifully hand-painted matching game, created in collaboration with Aboriginal artists including Lavinina Bennell, Spiros Woods, and Shantay Tidswell, as part of the Awe & Wonder collection.
This engaging resource invites children to explore the six Noongar seasons through colour association. Noongar Season; Birak (Dec-Jan), Bunuru (Feb-Mar), Djeran (April-May), Makuru (June-July), Djilba (Aug-Sept), Kambarang (Oct-Nov). Rather than matching identical images, players match patterns by season-specific colour palettes, encouraging deeper observation and cultural connection. Alternatively, the discs can be used as two distinct sets for expanded learning and play. The design and colours for each season are inspired by our Djet wer Boorn ‘Flowers and Trees’, Worala ‘Weather/Climate and the changes we see in our Boodja at different times of the year.
