Uluru Puzzle and Sand Disc Set
The Uluru Sandscape Puzzle features a beautifully crafted puzzle board in the shape of Uluru, a significant landmark and cultural site in Australia. Uluru is located in the Northern Territory of Australia, within Kata Tjuta National Park, about 450 kilometers (280 miles) southwest of Alice Springs. It sits in the heart of the Australian Outback, in the Red Centre, which is known for its striking desert landscapes.
Uluru is sacred to the Anangu, the Indigenous custodians of the land. The Anangu have lived in the area for over 30,000 years and consider Uluru a spiritual and cultural symbol. It plays a key role in their Tjukurpa, which refers to the law, creation stories, and the interconnectedness of all things in their worldview.
This playset is inspired by this incredible Australian icon, bringing culture and First Nations history to the classroom.
The puzzle pieces are made from high-quality materials, ensuring durability for repeated play. The puzzle board contains a special section filled with fine, textured sand that mimics the natural terrain of Uluru. As children complete the puzzle, they not only develop spatial awareness and problem-solving skills but also engage in imaginative play. The sandscape encourages them to explore the textures as a multisensory experience. Please note due to the crafted nature of these resources’ variations from images and product to product may occur. Made of sand and wood. Sand Disc measures 25cm d. Uluru puzzle measures 17cm W. Ages 3yrs+.
