These animal replicas are of the highest quality in both sculpture and painting.

Includes:

1 x Yellow Fat-Tailed Scorpion

Yellow Fat-Tailed Scorpion has a very potent venom, equivalent to a black mamba snake. Measures 7.4 x 6.5cm.

1 x Honeypot Ant

Honeypot Ants are stuffed with food to an extent that their belly will swell to the size of grapes. Other ants will then live on that. During tough times, the honeypot ant will regurgitate honey to feed its colony. The CollectA model is featuring the swollen belly. Measures 6.2 x 2.74cm.

1 x Black Widow Spider

The Black Widow Spider is a spider that -with its similarly called relatives- is broadly distributed. It can vary widely in size and many can have red, white or brown markings on the upper side of the abdomen. Some can be readily identifiable by reddish markings on the central underside abdomen, which are often hourglass-shaped. These small spiders have unusual potent venom, which causes pain, muscle rigidity, vomiting, and sweating. Female widow spiders have unusually large venom glands, and their bite can be harmful to large vertebrates, including humans. Despite their notoriety, those bites rarely cause death or produce serious complications. Measures 14 x 2.8cm.

1 x Grasshopper

Grasshoppers prefer to eat grasses, leaves and cereal crops, but many grasshoppers are omnivorous. Measures 8.2 x 5.5cm.

1 x Mexican Redknee Tarantula

Mexican Redknee Tarantula carve deep burrows into soil banks, which keeps them protected from predators, like the white-nosed coati, and enables them to ambush passing prey. Measures 8 x 8.7cm.

1 x Rhinoceros Beetle

When the sun is out, Rhinoceros Beetle hide under logs or in vegetation to camouflage themselves from the few predators big enough to want to eat them. Measures 6 x 3.5cm.

1 x Ladybird

"Lady" referring to the Virgin Mary (Our lady) who in early paintings is seen wearing a red cloak; the seven spots are symbolic of the seven joys and seven sorrows of Mary. Measures 5.5 x 2.5cm.

1x Bumble Bee

Queen and worker bumblebees can sting. Unlike a honeybee’s stinger, a bumblebee's stinger lacks barbs, so it can sting repeatedly without injuring itself. Measures 6.5 x 4cm.

1 x Monarch Butterfly

Female monarchs have darker veins on their wings, and the males have a spot called the androconium in the centre of each hind wing. Measures 5.5 x 6.5cm.

1 x Golden-Ringed Dragonfly

Dragonfly is found in heathland and moorland habitats. The larvae inhabit small streams that are typically less than 2m wide and overhung with vegetation. Measures 9.3 x 5.4cm.

1 x Praying Mantis

Mantids can turn their heads 180 degrees to scan their surroundings with two large compound eyes. Measures 10.4 x 9.5cm.

1 x Centipede

Centipedes (from the New Latin prefix “centi” (hundred), and the Latin word “pes” or “pedis” (foot). Centipedes (which includes Millipedes and other multi-legged creatures) are elongated metameric creatures with one pair of legs per body segment. Most centipedes are generally venomous and could inflict a painful bite, injecting their venom through pincer-like appendage known as forcipules. Despite the name, centipedes can have a varying number of legs, ranging from 30 to 354. Centipedes always have an odd number of pairs of legs. Therefore, no centipede has exactly 100 legs. Similar to spiders and scorpions, centipedes are predominantly carnivorous. Measures 18 x 3cm.
