MEMOnext - Nature

MEMOnext Number Memo is an innovative twist on the classic memory game, designed to build early number understanding through discussion and critical thinking.

The game includes 10 number cards (1–10) and a set of picture cards. Children take turns turning over one number card and one picture card, then decide together: Does the picture match the number? If the match is correct, both cards are removed from play and a game piece is placed on the corresponding number on the number path.

What makes MEMOnext unique is that many picture cards have more than one possible meaning, allowing for multiple correct matches. This encourages children to explain their thinking, justify choices, and engage in rich mathematical conversations with their peers. MEMOnext Number Memo is ideal for early years and lower primary settings, offering a fresh approach to numeracy that values thinking and communication as much as getting the “right” answer.
