Number Line Athletic Game
Number Line Athletic Game brings numbers into motion, helping children actively explore counting, quantities, and calculation through physical and visual learning. Designed to make number concepts concrete and meaningful, this hands‑on maths resource supports the development of a strong mental number line.
Children jump along the number line using jump cards, place red and yellow counting blocks in the correct positions and use number symbol cards to visualise and build sums up to 20. By linking physical movement, quantities, and numerical positions, children gain deep insight into how numbers are structured and how to bridge across ten.
The strength of Number Line Athletic Game lies in its simplicity and clarity. Counting blocks give real substance to the number line, allowing children to see what a number truly represents, rather than only recognising it as a symbol. This concrete understanding supports later calculation skills and mathematical confidence.
The specially designed holder is shaped like a number line, with dividers representing number marks. Numbered cards, leaper cards, and jump cards make counting steps and jumps visible and understandable. Cards can be used both as learning aids and as control cards, supporting independent and self‑checking learning. Box measures 33.5 x 22.5 x 7cm. Ages 4yrs+

Key Educational Benefits
- Builds a Strong Mental Number Line: Helps children understand number position, order, and distance by physically and visually exploring numbers up to 20.
- Supports Addition and Early Calculation: Making jumps on the number line helps children understand adding numbers up to 10 and up to 20 in a meaningful way.
- Develops Understanding of Quantities and Number Structure: Counting blocks show how quantities correspond to numbers, supporting deeper number sense rather than rote memorisation.
- Encourages Bridging Across Ten: Visual and physical representations make crossing ten clear and comprehensible.
- Connects Movement and Learning: Jumping, placing blocks, and arranging cards support active, embodied learning.
- Promotes Independent and Guided Learning: Control cards and self‑checking features build confidence, autonomy, and persistence.
- Enhances Problem‑Solving and Reasoning: Children analyse positions on the number line and determine correct steps to reach a target number.
- Supports Differentiated Learning: Flexible components allow educators to adjust difficulty for a range of abilities and learning stages.
